Most medicine available in the market is prepared specifically for humans. Unfortunately, this means that our furry friends usually have to take a human dose when they’re sick! Fret no more, we can tailor your pet’s medicine according to their unique dose and taste.

Compounded medications provide therapy for animal patients when no suitable government-approved (e.g. The United States Food and Drug Administration) products are available.

Products approved for use in certain species may be commercially available in dosage forms (e.g. large tablets) that are not suitable for use in other species (e.g. cats or exotic animal patients). Likewise, approved products may be available in flavours that are not acceptable by certain animal species (e.g. citrus flavoured medicines are not acceptable by cats).

In these instances, compounding can be used to change an approved product into an acceptable dosage form or flavour to increase adherence, particularly in species which are difficult to medicate (e.g. cats, exotics and wild animal species).

Customised medications allow you to give your pet the exact dose required in a dosage form that works best for your pet.
